This week, the cat is drawn surrounded by Jaffa oranges, a symbol of the fertility of Palestinian soil. A symbol recounted in the film ‘An Orange From Jaffa’ by director Mohammed Almughanni: "The Jaffa orange, once a symbol of Palestinian prosperity, carries with it a history of dispossession and colonisation. […] After 1948, this fruit became an emblem of spoliation and cultural appropriation, now marketed as an Israeli product. By giving his orange to Mohammed, Farouk symbolically restores to him what was taken from him, giving him back a part of the memory of his culture that was destroyed. The film […] invites reflection on empathy, reconciliation and brotherhood. [It] transcends the individual narrative to denounce a collective reality: that of a compartmentalised people, dispossessed and confronted with daily violence. (Fema, La Rochelle, 2025)
This bright and colorful digital artwork is available as A3 or A2 poster on 170gsm paper.
